General SummaryThe Manufacturing Education Cooperative may operate across various areas or specialize in manufacturing and semiconductor assembly to support the company’s products. Areas include, but are not limited to, assembly/process engineering, package engineering, wafer fab integration engineering, product engineering, test engineering, failure analysis, design engineering, quality engineering, and reliability engineering. This role is entry-level, targeting co-op candidates for a future in semiconductor fabrication.ResponsibilitiesUtilize computer-based manufacturing systems to record dataAnalyze/process data pursuant to project goalsOrganize documentation and department recordsPerform computer-aided design, process-flow, manufacturing setup, and other applicable software supportAdjust, calibrate, align, or modify equipment and record effects on unit performanceComplete paperwork associated with testing and troubleshootingFollow defined specifications and reaction paths in the basic operation of equipmentExecute instructions and perform experiments to improve performanceSummarize learnings and provide verbal and written reports of results to stakeholdersMaintain a well-organized and audit-ready work areaApply 6S, Six-Sigma, and LEAN concepts to practiceUnit Specific Responsibilities And DutiesManufacturing Training TeamThe person in this role should be comfortable with computers, understand file organization and how to locate documents on the shared drive, and have basic Excel skills such as entering data, adjusting columns, changing colors, and hiding or adding columns. They should also be able to send emails and communicate with others who may have questions. Templates will be provided for written updates.This role requires strong organizational skills, as documents are received, data is copied and pasted between sheets when employees transfer, and training requirements are updated for their new manager. If information is missing, the person will need to follow up with the manager or employee to ensure the data is added to the system. Attention to detail and thorough documentation are essential.MISThis opportunity involves several projects. The first step is to create an inventory of all microscopes in Buildings 9 and 10. There are approximately 150 units, but the company responsible for calibrations missed a few, so the current list is not accurate. The goal is to record all relevant information, including asset numbers. Some microscopes already have asset tags, and those without tags will be labeled after notifying the manager of the missing ones. All information will be tracked in an Excel spreadsheet.There is also a data entry project to enter calibration details such as recorded values, dates, and serial numbers. The person will receive system access to support a larger project, which involves setting up the annual calibration schedule for approximately 380 tools. They will enter the required information into Camstar for each tool and will be trained on how to use the system.The main responsibility is maintaining and organizing the calibration schedule for tools, ensuring all annual calibrations are current and properly documented. Tools may include items such as voltmeters and torque wrenches. Once these projects are complete, the staff engineer will continue to mentor the co-op student and involve them in daily activities. QualificationsAn in-progress high school diploma is requiredThe successful candidate should be interested in math, science, engineering, and/or semiconductor assembly, or a related field. Work with statistical methods or Statistical Process Control charts is helpful, but not requiredAble to read, understand, and execute Standard Operating ProceduresSkills Basic computer skillsAbility to communicate verballyPay close attention to detail
