Why this Role?As the Senior Project Officer, Rural and Remote, this is your opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to the implementation of a range of key initiatives that support rural, remote and small schools. Working within a dynamic team, you will play an important role in delivering programs and projects, and engaging with stakeholders to help ensure that children and students in rural, remote and small schools are supported to realise their full potential.

Key Responsibilities IncludeSupporting the development, implementation and continual review of programs and projects to support rural, remote and small schools;Conducting research and analysis to support program and project monitoring activities and the understanding of complex matters impacting upon rural, remote and small schools;Building and sustaining productive, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to advance high-quality strategic initiatives and projects to support rural, remote and small schools;Providing high level organisational and secretariat support for committee meetings and working groups to ensure their productivity;Preparing a range of briefing materials, submissions, papers, financial reports and other documentation in relation to matters impacting rural, remote and small schools;Supporting the administration and organisation of program and project activities, through preparing communications, correspondence, presentations, speeches, and website content.

Ensuring all corporate processes are followed, and legal and financial requirements are met; andOther duties as required. This role is based in the Brisbane Central Business District, but may require infrequent travel to various communities within Queensland.

The Perfect FitThe Ideal Applicant Will Have The Following Key AttributesHighly organised, with excellent project management skills and contract management experience to contribute to the delivery of initiatives that make a positive impact;Demonstrated ability to show initiative, and be an adaptable and flexible thinker, focused on working towards streamlined and effective solutions;A strong communicator, able to effectively engage and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, to progress the work of the Rural and Remote team;High level research, data analysis and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare a range of accurate briefing materials to support senior departmental officers or external stakeholders, as needed;Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team environment, delivering quality work within required timeframes.
