We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.We are currently recruiting English Language Teacher/ Creative Arts Teacher on a fixed term summer contract.Your role:Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our careEnsure all language tuition is appropriate to a camp environment in line with the Alpadia syllabus and course structureHave and demonstrate a sound knowledge and awareness of the use of English and the linguistic systems underlying it, providing appropriate models of both spoken and written EnglishEnsure the content of the lessons considers the course objectives, the learning needs, and cultural backgrounds of the studentsEnsure each lesson leads to relevant learning outcomes, which are made known to students, and which are achieved through a coherent sequence of activitiesEnsure the teaching techniques are appropriate to the focus of the lesson and to the needs of the group and individual learnersEnsure learning is promoted by the effective management of the classroom environment and resourcesEnsure students receive appropriate and timely feedback on their performance during the lessonEnsure lessons include activities to evaluate whether learning is taking placeEnsure students are engaged and create positive learning atmosphere is createdShow initiative to ensure the syllabus is adapted to meet the specific needs of our students, both at a class and individual levelEncourage the sole use of the target language in classrooms wherever possible, both from the students and the other teachersAlways represent ALPADIA in the best possible way, being polite and friendly to the students, both inside and outside of the classroomEngage positively in a reflective teaching approach and developmental observation process, embracing an “open-door” classroom policyArrive at the centre, and ensure all lessons start and finish on timeActively participate in all staff meetings as necessaryAttend, and where necessary contribute to, weekly Professional Development Sessions in a spirit of positive engagementAssist with placement testing as requiredRead, understand, and sign any relevant risk assessments as requiredLiaise with the Camp Manager/Academic Manager to resolve any instances of issues/questions/concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholdersAlways maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, highlighting any issues to the Camp Manager or Academic ManagerQualificationsYour profile:Essential: Level 6 Qualification - Examples: https://www.gov.uk/what-different-qualification-levels-mean/list-of-qualification-levels Recognised EFL/ESL teaching qualification (CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, TEFL). Experience teaching or facilitating groups in an educational setting. Understanding of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching strategies. Knowledge of basic art techniques (e.g., drawing, painting, crafts, collage). Ability to adapt language for learners at different English proficiency levels. Strong classroom and group management skills. Ability to design engaging, hands-on lessons that integrate art and language learning. Clear communication, patience, and intercultural sensitivity. Creative, enthusiastic, and resourceful in lesson planning. Supportive, approachable, and encouraging with learners. Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing. Desirable: Qualification or background in Art / Creative Arts Education. Experience teaching EFL through project-based or experiential learning. Experience working in summer schools, camps, or multicultural classrooms. Ability to link art projects with language outcomes (e.g., vocabulary, speaking practice, storytelling). First Aid certificate. Experience organising art exhibitions, showcases, or group creative projects. Additional InformationWe offer you:A competitive salary.
