We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.Objective of the traineeshipThe objective of the traineeship is to provide analytic, background support to a team of lending experts in the division responsible for financial institutions in Italy, France, Benelux, Slovenia, Croatia, Malta and Ireland. The team performs origination, appraisal and negotiation of lending and guarantee operations with financial intermediaries in the above countries, providing financing in one or more of the 8 priority sectors of the EIB, eg SMEs and Midcaps, climate action and environmental sustainability and TechEU/ innovation.You will collect data and analyse markets and banks in the relevant areas. In addition, you get a chance to contribute to building a data base consisting of financial and contractual data.ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Head of Unit and senior colleagues, you will actively participate in the Unit’s core activities.Your Main Responsibilities Will Be ToPerform market research/analysis in predefined markets/sectors in close co-operation with loan officers.Assist loan officers in the origination process (based on collected market data).Build a database base of financial and contractual data of the unit's counterparts.Academic Qualifications And Professional SkillsFinal year of studies or University degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Banking or similar field. Experience in financial analysis of banks will be considered as an advantage. Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel). Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
