We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.Objective of the traineeshipThe Small Businesses and Innovation Advisory Division (SBIA) in a part of the Innovation and Competitiveness Department (INCO) in the Project Directorate (PJ). One of the workstreams of the division is related to the advisory activities whereby the team implements JASPERS mandates and other advisory support within the INCO remit. In terms of sectorial focus, the team covers research, development and innovation, education, digitalisation, smart development, healthcare, and productive investments. JASPERS is an initiative set up as a joint instrument of the European Commission (EC), notably DG REGIO, and the European Investment Bank in support of EU cohesion policy to help in the development of high quality and sound projects in line with EU requirements. It focuses on the project preparation stage. Your objective will be to develop of a repository of project selection criteria in the relevant sectors and complementary to that to consolidate the methodologies of the assessment of small projects.ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision of EIB staff, you will:Research the selection criteria used in the past call of the EU funds in several Member States.Compare these criteria and select best practice cases.Develop easy to use database of such criteria to inform future advisory assignments related to the call preparation. Research various methodologies used in the assessment of small projects.Identify best practice approaches, build on the JASPERS team experience and consolidate into a methodology for the assessment of small projects.Have opportunities to enlarge the experience by taking part in the advisory assignments.Present the results of the work to the EIB team in a form of a database and a report.Academic Qualifications And Professional SkillsFinal year of studies or University degree preferably in science, computer engineering, economics or business administration or other relevant to the scope of this traineeship. Good analytical skills. Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Word and Excel).Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
