This position is based at our EIB Local office in Paris, France and requires regular office presence. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.Objective of the traineeshipAt the level of the Paris Office, the objectives include:To support the daily activities of the EIB Group Paris Office in the fields of institutional relations, communication, and stakeholder engagement. To contribute to the organisation and follow-up of events, meetings, and missions involving internal and external stakeholders.To assist with the preparation of briefings, background research, and internal reporting tasks. To gain first-hand experience of the operations of an EU institution and its role in France, within a dynamic, small office setting. For the Special Activities Unit, the objective of the traineeship is to provide a solid, hands on learning experience of the trainee in a new team responsible to deliver on the Special Activity targets both in EIB's bilateral lending as well as the bond product. The special activity unit is a highly agile and technical team, looking for support with market intelligence gathering, deal appraisal, negotiation with clients and general support to the whole division in terms of delivery on the Special Activity pipeline. She/he will be supervised by the head of unit and senior colleagues located in the Paris office.ResponsibilitiesFor the Paris Office:Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings, conferences, and visits involving EIB Group representatives and French stakeholders. Conduct research and prepare briefing notes on political, economic, and sector-specific developments relevant to the EIB Group’s activities in France. Support communication activities, including event logistics, drafting of summaries, and updating of contact databases. Contribute to the monitoring of public affairs and media coverage relevant to the EIB Group in France. Liaise with EIB departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely information flow and coordination. Provide general administrative support to the Paris Office team as needed. For The Special Activities UnitSupport the Unit through activities across the EIB operation lifecycle; this may include conducting financial analysis, researching specific topics to inform the team’s decisions, gathering and reviewing relevant documents, as well as contributing to internal documents necessary for the identification, origination and execution of relevant financing transactions.Engage with the division / unit management and colleagues to identify areas of potential support, reporting periodically on progress for tasks agreed.In alignment with the Division / Unit management, take the lead and carry out a standalone initiative relevant to the Special Activity business as well as main priority areas, for example in the area of market research, pipeline development or internal optimisation, with a view to present the findings to the team at the end of the internship.Academic Qualifications And ProfessionalFinal year of studies or University degree in European affairs, political science, economics, international relations, communication, or a related field AND/OR Management, Finance, Banking or related subject (Economics, Business Administration).Strong interest in EU affairs, public policy, and/or sustainable finance as well as Finance /Credit.Very good drafting and synthesis skills. Solid organisational abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with SharePoint, AI tools is a plus.
