Electrical Design Engineer

Sönmez Transformer Company ( STS ) is a fast-growing company in the energy sector. STS manufactures power transformers, special transformers for different applications, and reactors. STS was founded in 1976. Our production plant is located in Dilovasi, Kocaeli and we have an office in Istanbul Anatolian Side. Our current export rate is more than 95% worldwide; our main markets are Central Europe, North America, and Australia.We are searching for a Electrical Design Engineer for our young and dynamic team.Job Description:We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our production team in the power transformer manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and implement to the related Electrical Design process ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key ResponsibilitesConducting electrical design for power, distribution, furnace, reactor, converter, and custom transformer typesDemonstrating strong expertise in transformer design principles, including winding configurations, core selection, insulation systems, and loss analysisAnalyzing customer technical specifications and developing optimal design solutionsPossessing solid knowledge of international standards such as IEC 60076, IEEE C57, and ANSIProviding technical support throughout the production process to ensure design accuracy and compliance.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design, manufacturing, or project management.Strong knowledge of electrical component design, analysis, and production processes.Proactive, results-oriented, and able to manage projects from start to finish.Excellent teamwork and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Advanced written and spoken English.Preferred Skills:Experience with transformer design principles, including winding types, core selection, insulation systems, and loss analysis.Knowledge of CAD or electrical design software.Familiarity with production processes and lean manufacturing /Production principles.
