By continuously investing in technology and innovation, this organization keeps pushing the boundaries of the maritime industry.Are you ready to be part of this journey?The roleAs a Senior Engineer Electrical & Automation, you will play a key role in modifying, integrating, and optimizing electrical systems on board a large naval support vessel of the Royal Netherlands Navy.You’ll work hands-on with existing designs and tools to implement modifications, enhance system functionality, ensure reliability, and maintain compliance with naval standards.Your primary focus will be on the electrical domain, with involvement in automation interfaces where systems overlap. You will operate within a small multidisciplinary team, partly from the office and partly on board, working closely with the ship repair team, suppliers, and subcontractors. Your contribution will help extend the operational performance of one of the fleet’s most advanced support ships.Using tools such as Cadmatic, MicroStation, and Teamcenter, you will independently adapt existing designs, provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning, and coordinate subcontracted work.Key responsibilitiesModify and optimize existing electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, automation interfaces, and control systems.Create and maintain technical documentation and drawings using Cadmatic, MicroStation, and Teamcenter.Supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities on board the vessel.Collaborate closely with the ship repair team to support execution and integration work.Monitor progress, quality, and technical compliance of subcontracted work.Provide hands-on support during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Ensure all designs comply with internal and class regulations.Your profileMinimum of 5 years of experience designing, modifying, or maintaining complex electrical systems, preferably in the maritime or offshore industry.Proven ability to work independently within a small team and take full technical ownership in a project environment.Practical knowledge of shipboard systems, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Experience with Cadmatic, MicroStation, and Teamcenter is a plus.Strong communication and coordination skills for managing subcontractors and collaborating with shipyard teams.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Permanent EU citizenship and valid passport (security screening applies due to the military nature of the project).What’s on offerSalary between: €4.500,- and €6.500,- depending on knowledge and skills8% holiday allowanceTravel allowance of €0,23 per kilometre.Flexible working arrangements, including up to two days per week working from home.The opportunity to work on challenging and innovative projects within the naval and maritime sector.
