Job Title: Electrical Engineer – High Voltage (Pharmaceutical Industry)Location: On-site (Limerick)Role Overview:The Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) will provide critical technical expertise to support the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will ensure all high voltage systems operate safely, reliably, and compliantly with industry regulations and site requirements, supporting production and facility needs.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of high voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with GMP and pharmaceutical safety standards.Oversee operation and maintenance of HV infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.Manage electrical projects, including upgrades, expansions, and tie-in activities related to site utilities and manufacturing equipment.Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors for efficient project delivery and operational support.Ensure all work carried out meets relevant safety, regulatory, and quality standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, local codes, and pharmaceutical industry requirements).Conduct risk assessments, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for HV system faults or outages.Support validation activities for electrical installations as part of cross-functional project teams.Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), change controls, and compliance reports.Provide training and support to site maintenance and engineering teams on HV systems and safe work practices.Participate in continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives for site power systems.Candidate Requirements:Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Proven experience in high voltage electrical systems within the pharmaceutical or regulated process industries.Strong knowledge of electrical standards, GMP, and safety regulations pertaining to HV systems.Experience in commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and upgrade projects for electrical supply/distribution.Skilled in project management, technical troubleshooting, and contractor coordination.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.Willingness to work on-site as required.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with automation, instrumentation, and control systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing.Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.Certification or training in HV safety (e.g., Authorized Person, Senior Authorized Person for HV systems).
