Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Buildings & InfrastructureDepartment: Engineering / ProjectsReports To: Project Manager / Senior Electrical EngineerJob PurposeThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects. This includes power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, ELV systems, and related utilities, ensuring compliance with codes, safety standards, and project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and review electrical systems for buildings, commercial complexes, and infrastructure projects.Prepare electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and BOQs.Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, NEC, and other applicable codes/standards.Coordinate with architects, civil, mechanical, and other engineering teams for integrated project execution.Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at site.Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and safety compliance.Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and as-built drawings.Liaise with contractors, consultants, and vendors for material approvals and execution.Support in resolving technical issues and provide engineering solutions.Ensure energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design solutions.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of LV & MV distribution systems, lighting, earthing, and ELV systems.Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and electrical design software.Good understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and green building standards.Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage deadlines.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Qualification & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).20+ years of experience in building services and infrastructure projects.Hands-on experience in design, execution, and commissioning of building electrical systems.Exposure to international standards and large-scale projects preferred.At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
