We are looking for individuals that want to grow and retire with us.What You Will Be DoingThe Electrical Estimator will prepare electrical cost estimates for construction projects, or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of construction or service.Responsibilities & DutiesConsult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction supervision to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Manage document flow, analyze blueprints, construction drawings and other documentation to prepare accurate and timely, cost, materials, labor estimates and prepare bid summary.Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications.Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimating figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, prices lists, etc.Confer with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.Prepare accurate estimates for purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work and proposals.Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to construct or sub-contract components.Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. Work with Field Foreman and Project Managers regarding pricing for field change orders.Communicate effectively with Project Managers, contractors and other parties for clarifications on items to bid.Prepare presentation to customer.Post bid follow-up.Computerized estimating experience a plus (preferably McCormick Estimating Software).Thorough knowledge of NEC Code and NFPA 72 is essential.Work within company policy as outlined in the Bryan Electric Employee Handbook and in compliment with the, BEI Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business is preferred.Minimum 3 years of job-related work experience is required.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent analytical skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with estimating software.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Positive attitude and ready to meet any challengeWhy You Should Join UsMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401k matching after one year of employmentPaid time off based on accrual basisPaid holidays100% employer paid Short-term and long-term disabilityVoluntary and involuntary life insuranceScheduleMonday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m..
