This is not just an opportunity to utilize your expertise and experience but an opportunity to see nature in its purest form!MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics and aviation management services to a diverse range of clients in the resource and service sectors, focusing on our people.MATRIX is a drug and alcohol-free company; with over 250 employees annually, we offer excellent career advancements for all skillsets.We are currently seeking temporary Journeyman/Red Seal Electricians for one of remote Canadian project locations!Responsibilities:Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical componentsTesting circuits and connections using electrical test equipmentInspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictionsResponsible for ordering electrical partsPreparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removalProficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairsAssist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocationProvide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectationsUnderstand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprintsParticipate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspectionsPerform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job proceduresNotify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environmentReport all incidents and accidents immediatelyActively participate as a high performing, team memberMinimum of three (3) year working in a construction field/camp environmentCertified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal)Service Experience in electrical (ability to set connections for live transfer)Electrical Controls experience considered and assetSupervisory experience and ability to work without minimal supervisionSolid verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to work a rotation schedule. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduleBe in good health and physically lift with the ability to life a minimum of 50 lbsAble to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical laborAbility to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shiftRequired Knowledge & ExperienceJourney,man/Red Seal ElectricianPreferred Licensing & Certifications:Valid Drivers License preferredStandard First Aid CertificationWHIMS CertificationPrevious experience working in remote camp settingProficient in all aspects of electrical repair and replacement
