Basic FunctionPetro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair business, located in Mississauga, ON is seeking a full-time Electrician, Reporting to the Supervisor I&E, the Electrician is critical in reliably and safely maintaining the electrical and instrument equipment of Lubricants Centre production. This safety conscious individual will install, troubleshoot, plan, service and repair a variety of plant equipment. The successful candidate will participate and assist in establishing an environment which reflects craft flexibility and teamwork.Job DutiesTroubleshoot and repair a variety of high and low voltage distribution systems, troubleshoot and repair control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA) faults, troubleshoot and resolve field issues by reading through Hardwired relay/PLC/DCS logic, troubleshoot and resolve issues with field electrical and instrument (electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic) & control devicesConfigure settings and calibrations or above said electrical and instrumentation equipmentImplement preventative and predictive programs/assignments for Electrical & Instrument systemsParticipate in safety and environment driven programsMaintain equipment histories as requiredPlan and estimate jobs, including assessment, selection of material, etc.Work effectively in a flexible multidisciplinary team environment and communicate clearly with all othersAbove Tasks or assignments are given to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.EXPERIENCEA minimum of 5 years’ refinery or industrial maintenance related experience (post apprenticeship)Education LevelA minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is requiredSuccessful completion of a community college program as Electrical Technician / Technologist or equivalent international credentials309A or 442A Electrician CertificateCertificate in 447A Trade and experience in Instrumentation trade in addition to 309A or 442A Electrician Certificate is an assetREQUIRED SKILLSSound knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, maintenance of high to low voltage systems (Transformers, HV Cables and cabling/conduit systems, Motors, Generators, Breakers, Starters/Contactors, MCCs, Automatic transfer schemes, Protective relays, VFDs, UPS etc.)Fully knowledgeable in grounding and bonding requirementsAble to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems using various wiring and logic diagramsSound knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA hardware/operation/programmingSound knowledge field electrical and instrument (electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic) device settings and calibrationHigh level knowledgeable of Ontario Electrical Safety Code (O. Reg. 777/21) OR Equivalent from other provinces. Ability to understand and interpret electrical and instrumentation codes, standardsStrong analytical/troubleshooting/decision making skills backed by strong oral and written communication skillsHigh level of computer literacyMust have a valid drivers licenseMust be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions while working with limited supervisionPREFERRED SKILLSKnowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI family, Honeywell Experion DCS, GE protection relay familyKnowledge of Arc flash hazards and PPE requirementsHigh level knowledge of temperature, level, pressure and flow measurement instrumentsKnowledge of SAPKnowledge of W.H.M.I.S. and OH&S regulationsHas good housekeeping standardsWork ConditionsRequired to work in all temperatures and subject to varying weather conditions. May be exposed to dust, dirt, mud, water, and petroleum products, etc. Work in high, precarious places up to 200ft. Outdoor duties under wet and/or humid conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions.
