Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.Job DescriptionPosition Title: Maintenance HVAC/Electrician - ElectricianSalary Schedule: CLSJDepartment: MaintenanceJob Code: 445604Reports To: Maintenance Director/Maintenance SupervisorWork Schedule: Annual/8 hours per dayGrade/Level: G-3FLSA: Non-ExemptPrimary Function: Working knowledge of the current NEC electrical code.Working ConditionsPhysical DemandsWorking with voltages ranging from 120V and 480V - 3 phase up to 3000 ampsDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboardIndoor and outdoor work environmentAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeDriving a vehicle to conduct workAbility to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, feel, talk, hear, crawl, and to read a variety of printed and coded materialsRegular exposure to fumes, dust, and odorsAbility to work indoors and outdoors during all types of weather including hot, cold, rainy, humid, and dry conditionsSeasonal hear and cold or adverse weather conditionsLifting to 75lbsQualificationsMinimum of a high school diploma or GEDMinimum of three (3) years' work experience as a Master Electrician working with voltages ranging from 120V and 480V - 3 phase up to 3000 ampsState of Georgia Class II Electrical LicenseMust possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving recordThe Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.Essential FunctionsInspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain all electrical systems, circuits, and equipment throughout the school districtFollow safe wiring practicesTroubleshoot electrical problems and repair in appropriate time frameRemain updated on code changesInspect assigned facilities and equipment for safe and efficient operationPerform preventive maintenance on building components, equipment, devices, circuits, etc.Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisorMake recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriateWork with little or no direct supervisionComplete all assigned work orders including special project workMaintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilitiesMaintain clean work siteComplete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administratorEstimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobsOrder materials as directed, maintain materials inventoryMaintain routine records related to assigned activitiesReport immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employeesOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designeeApplicants will be selected for interview.
