Job Title: ElectricianLocation: Project Sites (Nationwide)Employment Type: Full-time / ContractRole Overview:The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.This includes wiring, conduit installation, lighting, switchboards, and electrical panel work in compliance with project specifications, safety codes, and energy efficiency standards.The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge, safety discipline, and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues under minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities:Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures according to safety codes and project specifications.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical panels, switchboards, and power distribution units.Conduct electrical testing, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting using appropriate tools (e.g., multimeter, clamp meter).Read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings to execute electrical layouts accurately.Connect electrical systems to power supplies, ensuring proper grounding and system integrity.Identify electrical hazards, defective components, and repair needs through regular inspection.Ensure compliance with electrical standards (NEC, IEE, or national codes) and company safety policies.Participate in safety toolbox talks and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.Collaborate with engineers, foremen, and site supervisors to coordinate installation schedules.Prepare reports on maintenance activities, materials used, and system performance.Train and mentor apprentices or junior electricians where applicable.Requirements:Trade Test Certificate (Grade I, II, or III) in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.Technical Diploma or NABTEB / City & Guilds certification in Electrical or Power Engineering.Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in construction, MEP, or industrial projects.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, distribution panels, and safety protocols.Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.Proficiency in the use of electrical tools and testing instruments.Good understanding of load calculations and energy efficiency practices.Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.Physically fit, safety-conscious, and able to work at heights or confined spaces.Strong teamwork, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
