LocationDept Of Student ServicesReference #2026-143BClose Date11/25/2025LocationDept Of Student ServicesReference #2026-143BClose Date11/25/2025SummaryUnder the supervision of the Student and Family Resources Administration and Elementary Family Advocate Supervisor, the Family Advocate will provide intervention services to at-risk elementary aged students, their families and their schools. Provides individual tracking and mentoring of students referred to the school Local Case Management team, acting as an advocate and mentor for students referred to the team for behavior, identified trauma history, attendance, and academic obstacles. Serves as a direct liaison between the school team and families in bridging resources to promote student success. The Family Advocate will track the total number of students and families served each semester/year in addition to student data on behavior, attendance, academic progress, and impact of wrap around services for the student and family.DescriptionClassified job announcement for all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, November 25, 2025. 29.5 hours per week /178 days per year/Salary Grade 11 - $ 25.04 per hour (Support Salary Table 2025-2026) [Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase] Educational Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies or related field. Knowledge and Ability: 1. Knowledge of human behavior and the development process and its various stages. 2. Understanding and sensitivity toward unique populations including the economically-disadvantaged, single-parent families, non-traditional families, cultural and linguistic diversity, and awareness of their individual needs. 3. Ability to recommend appropriate intervention, resources, and emergency assistance to families in crisis, as well as understand child abuse reporting procedures. 4. Excellent communication skills. 5. Strong organizational skills. 6. Ability to use small office equipment and computers with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office apps. 7. Proficient with various technology and willingness to learn. Licenses/Certification: 1.
