Job Description

Elmet Technologies is seeking a Production Planner, to be based in Lewiston, MaineRequirements of the Production Planner: Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Technical or equivalent in a related discipline preferred5+ years’ experience of production planning/scheduling, master scheduling or supply chain management preferredStrong Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Experience must include using the system as part of the job function, how to extract data, and how to maintain data integrity in the systemKnowledge of manufacturing principles and methodologies including Lean and Theory of ConstraintsExpert level MS Excel skills with strong data access/retrieval skills with experience in data analysis, data manipulationStrong analytical capabilitiesAPICS certification or similar preferredAbility to commute to Lewiston on Monday through Friday 7am- 4pm, there is flexibilityBenefits of the Job: Annual pay:

Short term/long term disability, Life insuranceConvenient location, close to I 95 in Lewiston, easy access!Responsibilities of the Production Planner: Creates and maintains master production schedules for finished goods for make to stock and make to order products, utilizing computerized software MRP/ERP systems. Analyzes plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Presents recommendations for approval.

Makes decisions on daily production schedules based on engineering plans, production specifications, factory capacity, availability of material and labor loading requirementsCreates, executes, and manages production work orders in support of material requirements plan. Trains Production Associates on performing inventory transactions, labor reporting and material management process improvementsIndependently identifies and performs schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning in addition to facilitating the resolution of labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other existing and potential schedule interruptions.

Develops recovery plans and adjusts schedules according to production progress, change orders, and other delaying conditionsResponsible for ERP data integrity by maintaining MRP, product masters, on-hand inventory balances, Bill of Materials, RoutingsWorks with Finance and Operations on material and labor cost deviationsEstablished in 1929, Elmet is a global manufacturer of high-performance metals and metal products.
