ELT Editor

English Content Editor (Full-time & Remote – Based in Turkey)As an English Content Editor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our ELT (English Language Teaching) materials used in international educational contexts.ResponsibilitiesWriting, editing, and reviewing ELT textbooks and educational materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and pedagogical quality.Reviewing writers’ work for grammatical, typographical, and structural accuracy.Collaborating with authors, editors, illustrators, and designers to develop learner-centered, CEFR-aligned content.Providing constructive feedback to authors and writers on language level, task design, and pedagogical effectiveness.Ensuring consistency in tone, style, and register across all materials.Supporting the development of teacher’s books, workbooks, and digital components when required.QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in ELT, English Language & Literature, Education, or Applied Linguistics.Minimum 2 years of experience in ELT publishing or materials development (experience with international or national publishers is a strong plus).Excellent command of English and strong attention to linguistic detail.Familiarity with CEFR levels and task types used in communicative methodology.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a creative, fast-paced editorial team and meet project deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Grammarly (or similar editing tools).Competence in MS Office and collaborative platforms (Google Workspace, etc.).Preferred:Prior experience editing primary or secondary ELT materials.Background in classroom teaching or teacher training.🕓 Contract Type: Full-time, remote (45 hours/week)🌍 Location: Remote, based in Turkey📩 Contact: vincent@getsmoothcontent.com
