Job Description
The Job: To develop, monitor, and update project schedules and coordinate closely with site execution teams for timely and efficient installation of security systems—including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and other ELV components—while ensuring full alignment with contractual obligations and project milestones.Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following: Project Planning & SchedulingDevelop detailed project execution schedules (Level 3 & 4) using Primavera P6 or MS Project.Break down scope into work packages and generate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).Identify and define construction sequences, dependencies, and priorities specific to security system installation.Establish project baselines (time, resource, and cost) in coordination with project control and site teams.Site Activities Planning & MonitoringCollaborate with site engineers and foremen to plan, cable tray routing and installation, cable pulling (power/data), mounting of devices (cameras, access control panels, sensors), Control room and rack installations and testing, commissioning, and system handover. Generate and update 2-week and 4-week lookahead schedules aligned with actual site progress and access availability.Integrate ELV/security system work plans with civil, MEP, and architectural trades to prevent clashes and optimize work fronts.Regularly visit the site to verify progress, monitor sequencing, and identify bottlenecks.Progress Tracking & ReportingTrack daily, weekly, and monthly progress vs. the baseline.Prepare and update S-curves, resource histograms & Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics (SPI, CPI, EV, PV, AC)Perform delay analysis and prepare recovery schedules when necessary.Maintain logs for key site events, delay events, and variation impacts.Meeting Participation & Stakeholder CoordinationAttend daily coordination meetings with site teams to review completed tasks, validate next-day plans and address workfront or material issuesAttend and present in weekly progress meetings with project management, client representatives, and consultants to provide updated schedules and progress visual and discuss critical path activities, upcoming risks, and mitigation strategiesJoin interface coordination meetings with other disciplines to align cross-functional tasks (e.g., electrical clearances, rack space, civil finishes).Support commercial teams by providing planning input for claims, extensions of time (EOT), and change orders.Resource & Material PlanningCoordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely delivery of security equipment (cameras, panels, servers, etc.) & plan material allocation based on lookahead schedulesForecast manpower needs based on scheduled workloadsFlag any resource gaps and recommend adjustments to avoid delaysRequired Tools & Software:Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project – schedulingMS Excel – data analysis and reportingSelection Criteria:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or equivalent)3–7 years of experience in project planning, ideally in ELV/Security System Sound knowledge of security systems: CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, etc.Strong understanding of construction site dynamics and coordinationProven experience handling high-value, schedule-driven projects (e.g., airports, high-rise buildings, industrial facilities)Strong communication and interpersonal skills (especially for cross-discipline coordination)Analytical thinking and problem-solving (delay recovery, sequencing)Attention to detail and accuracy in reportingAbility to handle high-pressure timelines and site constraintsProactive and organized in managing simultaneous tasks
