Our team comprises more than 65 nationalities and we are committed to developing and sustaining a diverse work force.Job DescriptionEnsure all physical contracts transactions are properly captured and recorded into the accounting system. Troubleshoot as necessaryMonitor trading open positions, ensure valuation accuracy and proper recognition in compliance with group policiesEnsure derivatives are recorded and supported in accordance with Vitol's policies and controlsPrepare and provide meaningful analysis to the various stakeholders to improve decision makingCollaborate with commercial operations, risk, back-office functions to ensure proper recognition and reflection of the PnLEnsure tasks are done with an impeccable level of accuracy and in a timely mannerSupport continuous improvements around tools, processes and controlsComplete special projects and other duties as assigned by managementMaintain internal controls and company processes and proceduresSupport external audits of our yearly financial statements and partnership activitiesComply with Vitol’s policies on data confidentiality and securityQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA required Minimum 4 years of relevant financial accounting experience within an international environment is preferredResponsive and able to communicate effectively in both English and FrenchAbility to acquire understanding and absorb new information rapidlyStrong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently, prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines and expectations with minimal supervisionKnowledge of ERP systems and high literacy in ExcelAbility to learn and use other software tools as requiredSolid process improvement skills and a proven change agentCommitted, efficient and able to work under pressureEager to learn and self-motivatedAbility to travel to other Vitol offices (~5-10% of time)
