Today, we remain a leader in the ITS industry, driving innovation that keeps communities moving safely and efficiently.Position OverviewThe Emergency, Health & Safety Manager leads MoboTrex’s initiatives to maintain a safe, compliant, and prepared workplace across all manufacturing and field operations. This role develops, implements, and monitors company-wide programs that ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state regulations, while promoting a proactive safety culture aligned with MoboTrex’s mission to deliver reliable ITS and traffic control solutions.The ideal candidate will have experience managing safety programs in manufacturing, field service, or operating environments and the ability to develop scalable programs that address multi-site operations, emergency preparedness, and employee health initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Program ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state requirements.Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits across manufacturing, warehouse, and field operations.Oversee safety training programs (forklift, lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE, electrical, first aid/CPR, etc.).Maintain safety documentation, including incident logs, corrective actions, and regulatory reports.Manage safety inspections and ensure timely closure of identified hazards.Emergency PreparednessDevelop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for fire, weather, chemical, and other critical incidents.Coordinate emergency drills, evacuation routes, and crisis communication procedures for all sites.Serve as the point of contact for local emergency responders and regulatory agencies.Lead post-incident investigations and corrective action planning.Incident Reporting & ComplianceInvestigate accidents, near misses, and property damage incidents; identify root causes and implement preventive measures.Prepare and maintain OSHA 300 logs and required compliance reports.Partner with HR and Operations on workers’ compensation reporting, claims, and return-to-work programs.Ensure safety program alignment with corporate policies, insurance requirements, and annual audits.Employee Engagement & TrainingPromote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and leadership engagement.Collaborate with department managers to ensure training completion and compliance tracking in LMS systems.Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on health and safety best practices.Continuous ImprovementMonitor safety performance metrics and provide regular updates to executive leadership.Research and recommend new technologies, software, and safety program tracking systems to streamline reporting and accountability.Participate in cross-functional projects to improve environmental, health, and safety performance across entities.RequirementsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.Minimum 5+ years of experience in safety management, manufacturing, or field service environment.OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CHMM, etc.) preferred.Knowledge of federal and state OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.Experience with incident reporting systems, LMS platforms, and safety tracking software.Skills & AttributesStrong leadership, communication, and training facilitation skills.Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.Ability to work across multiple locations and departments.Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management platforms.Work EnvironmentOffice and manufacturing plant environment with regular interaction on production floors.Periodic travel to remote or field service locations (30–40%).Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform safety inspections in warehouse or outdoor environments.Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the employee may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
