Job Description

Emergent Method seeks a student intern to support a wide range of communication, marketing, and general business tasks for the firm. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a strong desire to learn, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work. This internship is based in Baton Rouge, with flexible working hours and locations, and requires availability to work 20-30 hours per week. Please note this internship is designed to start in May and continue beyond the summer, with opportunities for extended involvement based on performance and availability.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Drafting deliverables such as newsletters, media releases, one-pagers, and reportsCreating content for social media and managing a content calendarDesigning social media graphics and formatting documents and presentationsConducting research and maintaining lists, databases, and spreadsheetsDeveloping meeting agendas, summaries, and action itemsCollaborating with team members to support various projects and tasks Providing administrative and event support as neededMinimum qualifications and expectations include:

Studying toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mass communication or a related fieldStrong written communication skills, including an adept knowledge of AP Style guidelinesStrong visual communication skills, including an adept knowledge of Canva and Adobe InDesignProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, including X, Facebook, and LinkedIn, as well as trendsStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to complete tasksEffective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills Strong work ethic with a keen attention to detailIn good academic standingInvolvement in extracurricular activities with demonstrated leadership experienceAbility to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding internal practices, as well as client names, projects, and other informationBackgroundEmergent Method is a nationally recognized management consulting firm focused on developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives that result in transformative impact.
