Role Summary:
As a future Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be expected to lead and optimize the company’s operations, driving efficiency, scalability, and excellence across all business functions. Partnering closely with the CEO, C-suite, and board, you will translate strategy into execution, ensuring that people, processes, and systems are aligned to deliver sustained business growth. This is a hybrid position, typically offering flexible remote work combined with in-region collaboration depending on the employer. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and refine operational strategies that align with the company’s vision, commercial objectives, and long-term growth plan.
Oversee daily operations across multiple business units, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability. Partner with the CEO and other C-suite leaders to drive strategic initiatives, organizational transformation, and cross-functional alignment. Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across operations, finance, HR, legal, and compliance functions. Lead organizational change management, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement. Oversee budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to maximize ROI and sustainable growth. Manage risk, compliance, and governance frameworks to ensure operational resilience. Represent operations in board and investor meetings, providing transparency on performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives. What We Look For:
Previous experience in a COO, General Manager, or equivalent senior leadership role within a scaling, high-growth environment. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver operational excellence at pace. Strong track record in scaling organizations, driving profitability, and implementing process improvements. Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to balance short-term execution with long-term growth. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ideally based in a Nordic country or open to relocation; fluent in EnglishExperience in a start-up, scale-up, or innovative enterprise environment is highly desirable.
