Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.As a Test Probe Central Engineering - Test Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the development, improvement and qualification of new and existing equipment and processes.You work with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA) and other manufacturing central team resources to design and develop equipment, define and establish processes, and design and perform experiments and share results. You will also provide direction and assistance in the US and internationally with the aim at reducing overall cost, improving yield, reliability and product quality.Responsibilities And TasksCoordinate Equipment and Process IntegrationDevelop and modify processes for product quality control and production efficiencySupport first article startup (new equipment and tooling), and provide feedback to the BECT development team on any technical issue observed at the implementation siteSupport new device/package transfer to HVM sites.Act as the tool owner for Tool of Records (TOR) on the alignment and standardization, as well as to review, evaluate and fan-out engineering changesWork down outstanding equipment issues with suppliers to minimize impact on production equipment.Assist in the fan out of best known methods (BKM) to identify gaps among sites and ensure best practices are shared and fanned outProvide training and guidance to the site equipment engineersProvide solution for the high volume manufacturing (HVM) site to address difficult equipment problem within established response timeWork with HVM sites to provide model of record (MOR) commitment to the Capacity groupFulfill business units (BU) requests and needsManage suppliersAssist sites to achieve cost goal through providing innovations or low cost tooling solutionsMake Effective Decisions to Prioritize and Address Area IssuesUtilize proper data collection techniques and make data driven decisionsCreate, implement, and complete conclusive design of experimentsLearn and utilize the use of appropriate formats for summation and presentation of data and analysis such as SPC, FMEA, databases, charts, graphs, and reportsFacilitate group decision making process, know when to seek direction/help from more senior engineering resources and take responsibility for decisionsSet goals, define task priorities and respond to changes in a positive manner, providing constructive feedback when necessaryBe pro-active in anticipating and analysing issuesMeet Internal/External Customer Expectations and RequirementsDevelop forward looking and flexible designsImplement and verify solutionMinimize reworkDevelop and apply effective project management skillsInvolve in quality improvement as an active memberIdentify supplier and Micron intellectual propertyIdentify and pursue possible patentable ideasCommunicate Technical Information to Appropriate PersonnelGenerate and deliver a presentation to a technical audienceEngage Focus Team concepts to solve problems and establish clear direction to address global issuesEngage internal and external customers to address project goals and keep all impacted groups in the communication loopUse proper methods for project tracking, cost analysis, and Return on Investment (ROI) modelingWork with suppliers on equipment issues, designs and effectively communicate Micron requirementsKnow and use correct terminology and spelling for electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsShare Knowledge And Experience With Other Team MembersUtilize effective mentoring skillsShare ideas and perform work review with team membersBuild trust and mutual respect in order to provide support to learnersDemonstrate a flexible style that facilitates different learning styles and cultural considerationsAccount for Safety and Ergonomic Considerations in Designs and Engineering SolutionsEnsure safety certification items remain currentPromote and uphold all area, company, local, state, and federal safe work practice policies, procedures and requirementsCommunicate area safety concerns to leadershipFollow safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols while working on/around equipmentCommunicate area safety concerns to leadershipAccess and use Micron Integrated Chemical Information System (MICIS) to obtain chemical informationAddress safety and ergonomic issues on equipment and processesAbout Micron Technology, Inc.We are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
