Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsOfficeJob DescriptionEngineer, Field ServiceLocation/Division Specific Information: Based in GyeongGi-DoPosition SummaryThe Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems at customer sites. They ensure operational quality, instruct customers on system use and maintenance, and serve as the liaison between the company and customers for both technical and administrative matters. The role involves on-site installations of Thermo Fisher systems and related options.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site installation of complex equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order.Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits.Provide solving and repair support for customers and other field service personnel.Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel.Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel.Complete and submit field service reports.Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance.Provide feedback to product quality teams.Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher Scientific system documentation.Provide feedback for various reports including identifying and isolating unique problems with system.Act as a subject guide and resource for training.How will you get here?This position is ideal for an experienced service engineer wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.EducationTypically requires a university degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in electronic system problem solvingExperienceTypically requires approximately 3 - 5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, solving problems, repairing, and calibrating complex analysis tools such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB) or similar systems.Experience in solving and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is highly desired.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to deal effectively with customersFluent in both Korean and EnglishExcellent interpersonal communication skillsProven ability to solving complex systems and subsystems down to component levelLiterate in MS DOS and Windows software environmentsAble to read and interpret schematics
