Job Title: Senior Site EngineerLocation: Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim Project Type: Commercial Development Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Reporting To: Project Manager / Contracts ManagerAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our project team on a large-scale commercial construction project in Carrick-on-Shannon. The successful candidate will take ownership of engineering activities on site, manage junior engineers, liaise with subcontractors, ensure technical accuracy, and contribute to the safe and timely delivery of the project.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee setting out, levels, and surveying activities using GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD.Interpret and implement design drawings, specifications and construction plans.Manage quality control on site; maintain detailed QA records and as-built drawings.Coordinate with project management, design teams, subcontractors and suppliers.Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site staff.Implement health, safety and environmental standards in compliance with company and statutory policies.Track construction progress, highlighting risks and resolving design or technical issues.Complete RFI submissions, method statements, ITPs, and daily site reports.Ensure materials comply with specs and approve technical submittals.Attend site meetings and support programme planning with site management.Skills & Experience RequiredBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.5+ years’ experience in site engineering on building or commercial projects in Ireland or the UK.Strong setting out and surveying experience.Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and surveying instruments.Strong knowledge of BCAR, Irish Building Regulations, and construction standards.Excellent communication and coordination skills.Proven ability to lead teams and work to tight project deadlines.Full Irish/UK driving licence.DesirableExperience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors.Commercial build experience (offices, retail, schools, healthcare, etc.).Safe Pass and manual handling certificates (required before site start).Temporary Works or PSDP/PSCS knowledge an advantage.PackageCompetitive salary based on experience.Company vehicle / travel allowance.Pension scheme.Career progression opportunities within a growing company.Support for CPD and chartership.
