RoleAs engineer you will be based in the head office in Capelle a/d IJssel or as required by Oceanteam projects and is involved in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and engineering related matters.The engineer reports to the Combifloat General Manager Engineering and Operations.Role OverviewThe Engineer, within the Oceanteam business unit of the Combifloat Group, will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of equipment dedicated to submarine cable storage, cable transport, and related operations—such as Carousels, Tensioners, and other specialized offshore equipment. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Engineer will contribute to both ongoing projects and new product development, always with a focus on technical excellence, operational efficiency, innovation, and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate technical drawings and 2D/3D digital models of Oceanteam and Combifloat equipment using CAD tools.Gather and integrate input from engineers, ensuring design models are coherent and complete.Participate in the preparation of manuals, operational standards, and maintenance instructions.Support engineering activities for product development, improvement, and feasibility studies.Conduct and assist with FEM strength checks (ANSYS RFEM), and code compliance.Draft material and design specifications and implement lessons learned into engineering procedures.Support the sales department with technical input during proposal phases.Assist operations throughout project execution.Ensure all work meets Combifloat’s and Oceanteam’s HSE standards and client requirements.Perform compliance checks at vendor facilities as needed.Participate in on-site evaluation, assessment, measurement or commissioning for engineering purposesAuthorizationsParticipate in engineering processes for product improvement, project execution, and sales support.Education/background: BSc MSc Undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering Offshore engineering, or a related field.Experience with Autodesk Autocad, Inventor, Vault Pro, and FEM software (Ansys and RFEM preferred)1–3 years of relevant engineering experience.Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.Good knowledge of English language in word and speechAboutOceanteam Cable Solutions has over 15 years of experience in the offshore renewable and oil & gas market.
