In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving products from concept to production, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer requirements.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize product designs using CAD software and engineering principlesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions for product development challengesConduct product testing and analysis to ensure performance, quality, and reliabilityCreate and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications and design filesManage product development projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraintsAnalyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costsStay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive product innovationTroubleshoot and resolve product-related issues throughout the development lifecycleEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulationsQualificationsREQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field2-5 years of experience in product engineering or related fieldPreferredProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and product lifecycle management (PLM) softwareStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material science, and product development methodologiesExperience with prototyping, testing, and validating product designsSkillsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong project management abilities and experience leading cross-functional teamsEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenProfessional Engineering (PE) certification preferredFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations related to product developmentAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing sites or customer locationsAdditional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
