When you join the NCIA, you will be part of an organization where you can contribute authentically to the mission and purpose of NATO and help us keep our technological edge.About the job:Based in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our Information Technology services to support NATO’s Digital Transformation. You will join the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC), which is responsible for the Digital Workplace, covering operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services. NDWC responsibilities also cover the support of digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders. NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Engineer (Unified Collaboration) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities: Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for complex issues related to collaboration systems on premise and in the Cloud (Exchange Server and Online, Skype for Business Server and MS Teams); Analyse and resolve complex hardware and software problems, collaborating with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams to provide timely resolutions; Provide Engineering Support, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to collaboration services, but also identification of issues with underlying services; Collaborate with other teams, Service Lines to ensure requirements on the underlying services are met and compatible with Agency requirements; Participate in on-call rotations, if needed, and provide timely response and resolution to critical incidents outside regular business hours. For a full list of duties, please review the job description on the NCI Agency career site .About you:The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are: Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post; Experience in identifying and assessing new and emerging technologies and their adoption into larger systems; Experience in developing technology roadmaps taking into account emerging technology solutions; Extensive knowledge and proven experience of managing Exchange Server and Skype for Business Server; Experience in Cloud based collaboration services; Knowledge in security technologies and concepts; Knowledge and experience related to design, implementation, operation, maintenance, support, configuration and administration of the systems in large distributed environment; Experience in coaching and supervising technical staff; Experience in planning and coordination upgrades, patches, service interruptions with multiple teams including remote locations; Experience in drafting and maintaining system design documentation; Fluency in English, both written and spoken. This position is temporarily based in Braine L'Alleud, Belgium, pending completion of the new SHAPE facility at Camp Casteau in Mons.
