Engineering Executive

We are a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka, looking for a Engineering Executive. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving machinery reliability, supporting plant operations, and driving maintenance excellence through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesImprove machinery reliability through proactive maintenance and effective problem-solving. Support the Engineering Manager in commissioning, upgrading, and modifying machinery and plant systems. Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and reduce equipment downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and safety standards. Identify opportunities to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance processes using best engineering practices. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, reports, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance and engineering activities.Qualifications & SkillsB.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or NDT qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in the Tyre manufacturing experience, polymer, plastics, or manufacturing industry will be an added advantage. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, automation, and control processes. Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis (RCA) to ensure machinery reliability. Hands-on experience in commissioning, upgrading, and modifying machinery and electrical systems. Proficiency in PLC systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation controls. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance management systems (CMMS). Sound understanding of electrical safety standards, compliance, and HSE practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities to collaborate across departments. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Kaizen principles to support continuous improvement initiatives. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong commitment to operational excellence.
