This is not just a people role or a delivery role, it’s a leadership role for someone who loves being close to the work: solving complex problems, shaping technical direction, and building a team that’s capable of doing their best work.What This Role Is Really AboutYou’ll lead a cross-functional engineering team that builds and maintains the systems helping our customers identify suspicious behaviour and act fast. You’ll be responsible for both the growth and performance of your team, and for the technical decisions they make.This Is a Hands-on Leadership Role For Someone WhoCares about building great software as much as growing great engineers,Finds clarity in ambiguity, andKnows how to take ownership from problem through to production.The problems we tackle are complex and high-stakes, and you’ll be right in the thick of it.What You’ll DoBuild and lead a cross-functional engineering team grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Shape technical direction and stay close to the detail, from architecture to code to deployment.Partner with Product and Design to plan, prioritise, and deliver work that creates real customer value.Balance innovation with reliability, making sure what we build is secure, maintainable, and scalable.Coach and mentor engineers and architects, helping them grow their craft and confidence.Champion modern engineering practices like CI/CD, automated testing, and security-by-design.Contribute to Jade’s wider engineering culture, sharing ideas, learnings, and ways to raise the bar.What You BringProven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.Strong system design, architecture, and coding skills, with a willingness to stay hands-on.A track record of delivering high-quality software, balancing pace with precision.Ability to guide and grow people, you coach, not command.Strong communication and collaboration skills; you translate complexity into clarity.A curiosity for how technology shapes customer outcomes and business value.Bonus: experience in SaaS, financial services, or AML/RegTech domains.Why JadeWe’re a New Zealand-founded technology company with a global reach, and a purpose that runs deep.
