As the premier gaming destination in North America, FanDuel operates across multiple verticals, including sports betting, daily fantasy sports, online gaming, advance-deposit wagering, and media.Role DescriptionAs an Engineering Manager in Platform Engineering, you will lead a team of talented engineers focused on building and maintaining the foundational infrastructure, tooling, and internal platforms that empower our product development teams. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day team management, technical direction, and delivering impactful outcomes that support the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our engineering ecosystem.Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will work closely with peers across engineering, security and product to drive forward initiatives that improve our developer experience and operational maturity. Your ability to blend technical insight with strong leadership and collaboration will be key to your success.What You’ll Be DoingLeading and supporting a team of engineers focused on platform capabilities, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.Mentoring and developing engineers through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning.Supporting the hiring and onboarding of new team members, ensuring smooth integration into the team and alignment with company culture.Facilitating sprint planning, setting clear priorities, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.Driving the successful delivery of projects and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and the platform engineering strategy.Partnering with other teams to manage technical dependencies, address blockers, and drive initiatives to completion.Helping define and track operational metrics (e.g., SLOs) to measure platform performance and reliability.Promoting engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and security-by-design.Advocating for continuous improvement in both engineering process and team culture.What You’ll BringProven experience managing engineering teams in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps domains.Excellent people leadership skills with a passion for growing high-performing, inclusive teams.Proven ability to lead one or more workstreams, driving team execution that aligns with strategic goals and delivers measurable business value.A track record of delivering scalable, reliable internal platforms or services that improve developer velocity.Technical background with the ability to understand architectural discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and support informed decision-making.Experience working with modern infrastructure tools and practices, such as Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, CI/CD systems, observability tooling, and infrastructure as code.Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially across functional boundaries.A mindset of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.Exposure to emerging innovative technologies in business applications is an advantage.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams across various departments, fostering an environment of open communication and shared goals to achieve collective successProven ability to set ambitious goals and continuously strive for improvement.
