Engineering Manager-Design Low Speed Electric Vehicles

Summary As a Unit Manager of the Product Development team, this role will support the technical and nontechnical operations of the Low-Speed Mobility division. This role will lead division initiatives with immediate and long-term impacts. The Unit Manager role will have direct reports with various levels of engineering experience in the automotive and low speed mobility industry. This role requires proven leadership, technical mastery, and an ability to collaborate with immediate team members and external customers and partners. The ability and experience to decipher ambiguous information and technical data to make decisions is necessary. This role will report to the Low-Speed Mobility Division Manager and be a key leader to drive positive change, manage development processes and inspire team members. Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES : Coordinate department activities in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures.Implement and adhere to all ISO-9000 and ISO 14001 procedures Confers with Division management to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.Directs and coordinates department activities.Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.Reviews costs and modifies programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of department.Directs preparation of accounting records.Manage senior and junior engineers in the development of recreational vehicle projects for the consumer product market from concept to production.Manage staff training and day-to-day activities.Maintain department records for projects and support audits of development systems.Confirm feasibility of new parts and systems engineered by others to meet required testing, cost and schedule targets.Periodically give project status presentations to executives according to stage gate process.
