And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities May Include:Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure timely and effective maintenance, reducing equipment downtime and improving overall plant efficiency.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively enforcing corporate Zero Harm policies and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and building services.Implement process reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving equipment reliability and efficiency targets.Manage the procurement, inventory, and budget control of spare parts and consumables, ensuring effective stock management to support maintenance activities.Lead and support capital expenditure projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Monitor and optimize the use of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.Ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards through regular safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management processes.Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance management to meet the operational needs of the plant.We have an outstanding opportunity to join our Palmerston North team as an Engineering Supervisor, working primarily on the day shift at our pallet repair and crate wash plants. This is a fantastic new challenge for an individual keen to lead the shift engineering maintenance and have end to end responsibility for site engineering projects.This key leadership role is responsible for the delivery of engineering and technical services at the Palmerston North site, including sole-charge maintenance, first-response to plant stoppages, optimisation of equipment performance, and technical support across the Lower North Island.You’ll lead maintenance operations, respond to equipment stoppages, and manage repairs within budget and priority guidelines. Daily scheduling, execution, and documentation of work orders will be managed through our CMMS (MEX), ensuring high reliability and efficiency.Reporting to the NZ Engineering Manager and working closely with the Service Centre Manager, you’ll drive equipment performance improvements, lead capital projects, and support testing and commissioning activities to ensure smooth operational handover.You’ll also oversee the development of operating procedures, maintain engineering documentation, and ensure safety compliance for contractors and suppliers—promoting SLAM and BASFR principles using BEAKON software.To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:Ability to perform hands on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all plant pneumatics, robotic, hydraulics, and electric systemsExperience with relocation of plant equipment and supporting new installationsSound technical ability and understanding of 24hr production and FMCG manufacturing environment.Experience in partnering with and overseeing outsourced/external/contractual services, to ensure all safety and legislative requirements are adhered toExcellent OHS&E exposure and demonstrated capability of operating in a high OHS&E environmentExperienced in the use of failsafe lock-out systems and electronic control systems- e.g., PLC logicDesign and documentation of maintenance and operational proceduresPlanning and scheduling preventative maintenance work using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)This is a salaried position for 40 hours per week.
