Enhanced Security Guard - CBSA Detention Centre - Casual on Call

Commissionaires BC is seeking dedicated and professional Enhanced Security Guards to join our team at a Surrey CBSA detention centre location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing individuals who are detained, stepping in to assist other staff on site, ensuring a safe and controlled environment.For clearance requirements, all successful applicants must hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.Schedule: casual on callPay rate: starting at $27.57/hrJob responsibilities:Ensure the safety and security of individuals in custody, including monitoring high-risk individuals at various locations. Oversee and manage designated areas, controlling access and maintaining security protocolsConduct routine and random searches of premises, reporting any irregularities and ensuring compliance with safety proceduresManage intake procedures, document personal belongings, and ensure proper handling of items as per safety guidelinesCommunicate effectively using radio equipment and follow standard communication protocolsAdminister basic first aid, CPR, and other emergency responses as needed, documenting incidents appropriatelyImplement use-of-force protocols and assist in restraining or controlling individuals when required, ensuring safety at all timesMaintain accurate records and reports on security activities and incidents, ensuring compliance with established policiesConduct well-being checks and monitor individuals for safety concerns, including self-harm prevention and other related activitiesReport and handle any prohibited items or contraband discovered during searches, ensuring proper storage and documentationMust haves:BC Security Licence Basic First Aid (OFA1) Certificate or willingness to obtainAdvanced Security Training or willingness to obtain Canadian citizen or permanent resident, having lived in Canada for the last 5 or more years At least 1 years security experience, preferably in a similar settingAbility to work in a high stress environmentAbility to undertake and pass additional training as per site requirementsFlexible availability would be an asset What’s in it for you:Work for a reputable company who has proudly served Canada for 100 yearsCompetitive compensation and benefitsOpportunity to gain skills and experience for career development in a law enforcement environmentOpportunities for growth and development within the organizationOur StoryCommissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization that has been in business since 1927.
