Enterprise Business Data - Business Intelligence Analyst

Job DescriptionDPR Construction is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Data Analyst to lead the development and management of our company-wide dashboards. This role will primarily focus on aggregating and summarizing key metrics from across the organization, with a special emphasis on dashboards that support our Enterprise Goals & Objectives and other strategic initiatives.This role will partner with our data analytics and engineering team members to identify the key metrics we want to move into our company-wide dashboards and assist in building the framework and consumption layers for ensuring our company-wide dashboards are aligned with more detailed workgroup specific dashboards.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnership / Roadmap / Execution / DeliveryDevelop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders across all functional groups of DPR.Develop a deep understanding of their processes, tools, and goals, and be able to speak to how our developed KPIs speak to those goals.Create, maintain and communicate detailed schedules for this wide-ranging KPI development. Coordinate technical teams performing development of KPIs and communicate progress to business teams.Create, maintain and execute quality control and practices to ensure that we deliver accurate information to end-usersVisualization / StorytellingWork with stakeholders to understand and align on business requirementsCreate and maintain dashboards and Apps, as requiredDeliver actionable insights to improve business processes and drive strategic conversationsTrack and monitor usage metrics to understand and measure adoption/impact of analyticsComplete Ad-Hoc Analysis as requiredTroubleshoot Issues / FailuresIdentify root source of data integrity issues (report, DFL, data warehouse, source system)Troubleshoot and solution data integrity issues in visualization toolData Modeling And ETLCreate complex data models in visualization tool, and make transformations as neededQuery Data Warehouse using SQL to quickly analyze datasetsClean data, as requiredIdentify potential new datasets to add to the Data WarehouseIdentify potential new integrations between source systems and the Data WarehouseWork with Technical Analysts to build requirements for views in DBT and the data warehouseDocumentationWork with Data Engineering in the development and maintenance of the data catalogCreate and maintain documentation of queries, transformations, and refreshes for reportsSecurity / GovernanceFollow, implement, and enhance data security and governance guidelinesCreate, maintain, and implement security for DFLsReview requests and grant access to DFLs, Reports, and Apps, as neededCreate and maintain RLS in visualization tool, where neededWork with business stakeholders to understand and set security requirements, with regards to build access and view accessChange ManagementComplete impact analysis on reports when changes are made to source systems or tables upstreamIdentify, quantify, and communicate impacts to stakeholders and customersCoordination / Collaboration / PrioritizationIdentify opportunities for data collaboration and integration between disciplinesCoordinate alignment, as applicable, across other T&I groupsIdentify opportunities for AI/ML/Data Science efforts and work with those teams on project deliveryWork with stakeholders to prioritize requests and initiatives based on business impact and resourcingParticipate in Focus Group meetings to align support functionsTraining / Data LiteracyTrain end-users on how to use and interpret information/insights on deployed dashboards/reportsTrain end-users on how to build reports themselvesProvide “on-the-job’ training to business stakeholders when neededWork with Data Engineering and others to develop and maintain tool for Self Service AnalyticsIncrease data literacy of business stakeholders through targeted trainings and conversationsIdentify opportunities to improve data literacy throughout DPRData SMEOperate as the Subject Matter Expert for the business across data availability, quality, processes, and technologyMaintain understanding of our data pipeline architecture to be able to articulate why we use it and its benefits/limitations for end usersEnsure source of truth system(s) are identified and operationalQualificationsMaster’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related, plus five (5) years of experience in the application of data to solve problems, or Bachelor’s degree in one of the above plus seven (7) years of experience.Proven track record of managing large-scale analytics projects spanning multiple functional groups.Experience guiding business partners (who may have limited experience with technology and data) through the process of KPI development.Construction Experience including knowledge of industry trends, terminology, and typical processes is strongly preferred.Passion for the use of data and business intelligence principles and their ability to optimize business outcomes.Proven track record of translating business pain points into data requirements and identifying and solving complex problems with data.Analytic skills, including data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.Ability to create semantic data models and understand dependencies between source systems.Experience in data visualization/BI tools – Power BI required - including creating and maintaining dataflows.Experience with consuming APIs from the client side including REST and GraphQL.Experience with SQL scripting required.Advanced business acumen and working knowledge of typical company operations, including how business decisions are evaluated, and the ability to apply this understanding to identify opportunities for improved decision making.Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and visual), and analytical skills are needed.Demonstrated success in building trusted relationships with internal/external clients and customers.A drive to do what it takes to get the job done, including taking on different roles and responsibilities and adapting to changing environments.DPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets.
