Operationally, the coordinator will be responsible for accurate communication and coordination of loads from inception to delivery. They will manage the generation and submission of paperwork and invoices to appropriate parties and systems. They will organize records and assist in preparing documents for active shipments in a timely manner. Daily Responsibilities (non-comprehensive)Booking and coordinating drivers on a vast array of shipmentsManaging the agency’s invoicing program and submitting bills in a timely mannerTracing and tracking loads to preemptively avoid delays and surprisesCommunicating with customers on freight status and load timingCreating compliant shipping paperwork and documents like bills of ladingSupporting the team’s coordination efforts and helping streamline processesHandling day-to-day operations so the sales department can focus on growthMaintaining proper certifications for dispatching specialized loads (Hazmat, TSA, etc.)Compensation and Benefits$22-24 per hour or $48,000-$52,000 paid salary based on market rates, experience, location, and education401(k) retirement plan with 3% company match after 6 months of full time employeesHealth Insurance provided after 6 months of full time employees - 100% of premiums paid by employer, only out of pocket costs to you are your medical costsPaid sick leave Flexible and generous PTO policyPaid holidays, no weekend or overtime work unless desiredRequired QualificationsQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status. If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employee selection process, please direct your inquiries to josie@landstarmail.comFluent in the English language, ability to work across multiple time zones, Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skillsMinimum of 2 years experience in a support, dispatch, or operational role in a transportation, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain organization OR a degree in Transportation or Supply Chain ManagementGeneral understanding of trucking and the freight industry including terms, regulations, transportation modes, best practices, and key players.Familiarity with transportation management systems a plus, above-average to excellent proficiency with MS Word, Google applications (gmail, sheets, docs), excellent proficiency in computer use and learning new programs, and a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm. Proficiency in 10-keyStrong ability to multitask, prioritize, and keep track of multiple moving targets.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or micromanaging, with a talent for organizing one’s time, prioritizing tasks, and completing projects on time without constant oversightA positive attitude and a desire to constantly learn and improveOrganizational TrajectoryThis entry-level position is designed to grow and evolve into new positions with more and more responsibility. The job would begin with mostly back-office work as you familiarize yourself with our workplace and provide critical support, and as you learn and become more familiar with our operations, there is room for growth into positions with more responsibility, oversight, and compensation. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with our organization, and to grow with us as we expand.Final NotesThis is an entirely remote position and as such requires an individual who excels at prioritization, time management ,and self-accountability. We are currently a small team, so cohesion is incredibly important.
