Our mahi (work) is organised around the delivery of our three core services: Environmental Regulation and Protection Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards Public Transport About the Role | K?rero m? te t?rangaOur Environment Canterbury southern zone covers an area from the Rangitata River south to the southern edge of the Waitaki River catchment.

Our people work and play within this area, in the mountains and the rivers, and proactively support landowners to improve their environmental management approach across southern Canterbury. As a Biosecurity Officer you will be part of a high-performing team yet be working independently daily with the responsibility for managing your own time and work programme. Working closely with landowners is an important aspect of the role. This will involve educating landowners on their responsibilities under the Regional Pest Management Plan, as well as organising and undertaking property inspections to ensure compliance with the rules of this Plan.

Your responsibilities will include education, surveillance, pest control, investigation, and risk pathway management. You will also have the responsibility for managing your own pest project/s, involving budget tracking, operational planning and delivery, and contractor management. About You ? M?uYou’ll love the outdoors, thrive on tackling challenges with a positive mindset, and have a knack for great communication. You’ll also bring confidence in using computer systems and software to keep things running smoothly.
