The opportunity Environmental Health Officers play a vital role in our community, protecting, promoting and improving public health across the Port Stephens LGA.With a balance of both office and field work, you will develop Environmental Health Programs and provide Environmental Health advice to both internal and external stakeholders, the community, and other Government agencies.This is a great opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to leverage their experience and knowledge of key policies and legislation to fulfill our Environmental Health outcomes, programs and projects. This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement Base Salary Range: $87,392 to $102,814 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace Some of the key responsibilities within this role are listed below however you can view the full list here – view the position description. Customer Service including elected Council, internal Council officers, rate payers, Environmental Health industry, consultants, residents and Government/Non-Government agencies. Environmental Health Programs including customer requests satisfactorily completed in accordance with the Councils Operational Plan and agreed work plans. Environmental Health advice including DA referrals to internal and external stakeholders, the community and Government agencies. Application Assessment covering key functional areas (OSMS, Food, Regulated Systems, Parks) under delegated authority and associated tasks. Here’s what we’re looking for: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or other relevant qualifications and experience Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Health and Local Government legislation including the Food Act, Public Health Act, Local Government Act, Protection to the Environment Operations Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Contaminated Land Management Act and related subordinate legislation This is life at PSC!
