Join us.About The RoleBase is seeking a EH&S Engineer to support our manufacturing operations in Austin, TX. As an EHS Engineer, you will perform hazard assessments, incident investigations, work through employees’ safety concerns and issues, as well as strategize with site leaders to prevent/reduce injuries. In addition, you will ensure environmental compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements applicable to these departments.What You’ll DoDevelop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, NIOSHCollaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and proceduresExecute industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts against associated human health thresholdsInspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and implement machine guarding when neededComplete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification auditsInvestigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measuresDevelop safety solutions to resolve EHS hazards/ concerns within cost and schedule constraints following a safety order of precedence to include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, work practice controls, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that safety of personnel, property, and the environment are within acceptable risk boundariesResponsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste managementWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplinesDemonstrated ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective servicesKnowledge of process safety management methods, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systemsStrong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulationsExperience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and waterOur ValuesWe’re Building a Winning Culture And We’re Looking For People Who Are Up For The Challenge.
