ON-SITE – FULL TIME – ABU DHABIApply HereWanna join the adventure?As an Environmental Test Technician, you’ll be responsible for executing spacecraft environmental test campaigns and operating critical test infrastructure including thermal vacuum chambers, vibration tables, and acoustic test equipment. You’ll work hands-on with flight hardware, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to ensure our spacecraft can survive the rigors of launch and space operations. This is a high-impact, detail-driven role ideal for a technician with strong test fundamentals and a passion for precision.About This RoleOperate and maintain environmental test equipment (thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic chambers)Set up test articles and install sensors (e.g., thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges)Execute environmental tests per procedure and engineering directionMonitor test progress, identify and report anomalies or failuresCollect and analyze test data; prepare accurate technical reportsPerform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of test equipmentEnsure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom proceduresCollaborate with AIT, QA, and engineering teams to improve test processesMust Haves2–5 years of environmental test experience (aerospace or high-reliability hardware preferred)Proficiency operating test equipment (thermal vacuum chambers, vibration shakers, etc.)Ability to read and interpret test plans, schematics, and engineering drawingsTechnical diploma or Associate’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical or electrical technology)Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety in high-stakes environmentsSolid understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systemsNice To HavesExperience with environmental test standards (e.g., GEVS, Mil-Std-1540, CEQATR)Familiarity with RF testing setups or toolsBasic scripting or programming skills (Python preferred)Certified forklift and/or crane operatorExperience working in cleanroom or ISO-classified environmentsOrbitworks’ mission is to make space simple for organizations that want to deploy physical and virtual missions to space.
