As Executive Director, Regional Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership that drives improved educational outcomes for children and young people across the Metropolitan North Region.Working closely with the Regional Director, you will lead cohesive regional teams to deliver high-quality, responsive services that align with the Department of Education's vision for equity and excellence.This position is from 13 November 2025 to 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determinedThis temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.About The Department Of EducationWorking for the Queensland Department of Education means joining an organisation that values its people and promotes leadership and innovation. The role requires an ability to lead and manage Regional Services to deliver government priorities along with excellence in client service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Regional Director to lift educational performance of all schools, children and young people in the educational region in line with system-wide measures and priorities.Provide operational leadership of the region, including supervision and management of regional officers to ensure the region functions as a cohesive team providing high-quality, tailored and differentiated services and support to all schools.Lead the alignment of regional governance processes to system expectations.Regularly monitor service provision to ensure the responsiveness of regional services to system and school needs and priorities.Support the strategic direction of the region as part of the executive leadership team to ensure effective leadership and oversight in delivering improved outcomes aligned to the priorities articulated in the Department's Equity and Excellence strategies.Lead staff performance and contribute to the formulation of the region's strategic priorities to ensure that standards of service are consistent with DoE priorities and client expectations.Build relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders to advance school and system priorities and develop place-based solutions to regional or localised challenges and opportunities.Monitor and review regional and school performance, including through the completion of system monitoring processes.Support the Regional Director in leading local emergency management preparedness and responses.Interested?
