Our passion drives everything we do… As part of our corporate wide plan to support diversity and inclusion at Government of Yukon, the Diversity and Inclusion branch provides supports to increase employment equity and promote inclusion across the organization.The Equity and Inclusion Specialist leads the development of a corporate diversity and inclusion strategy to fulfill our People Plan , LGTBTQ2S Action Plan , and Breaking Trail Together commitments to create an engaging and inclusive workplace experience, in culturally safe and supportive work environments. This role will develop and implement programs, projects and initiatives to promote equality, increase diversity and strengthen inclusion. As a subject matter expert, this role will collaborate with diverse populations to frame culturally safe and supportive work practices, and make recommendations to program areas to improve accessibility and inclusiveness. Experience coordinating and leading events/meetings for employee resource groups. Experience implementing strategic plans or large initiatives in the area of diversity and inclusion and staff support. Experience analyzing existing programs and services and providing recommendations to improve inclusiveness and accessibility. Experience engaging and working with diverse groups on complex issues. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered. Job Requirements Additional information This position is located in Whitehorse, Yukon, and requires you to work in the office.
