Job OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and proactive Estates Technical Supervisor to join our dedicated Estates and Facilities team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.In this important role, you’ll support the Estates Supervisors and Operations Manager to maintain the Trust’s buildings, plant, and equipment across our sites. Working closely with other Estates Technicians, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our hospitals and facilities are safe, efficient, and always ready to deliver high-quality patient care.This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team, where your technical expertise and initiative will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and effective healthcare environment.Main duties of the job Carry out maintenance and minor works on engineering plant, equipment, and building services. Provide leadership and guidance on electrical, mechanical, and building systems for other team members. Carry Trust communication devices at all times, ensuring emergency communications are monitored and acted upon. Perform all duties safely, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and relevant regulations. Promote good morale, timekeeping, and discipline within the Estates team, maintaining a safe and positive working environment. Deputise for the Estates Supervisor or Operations Manager when required. Support and advise on planned preventative and statutory maintenance (PPM and SPM) programmes. Manage reactive maintenance tasks, order necessary parts, and update supervisors on progress. Maintain accurate training and professional registration records. Report equipment defects or hazards promptly to supervisors. Complete all electronic reporting in a timely manner to support performance targets (KPIs). Participate in training and development, learning new techniques as required. Advise other departments on small electrical/mechanical projects and assist with cost estimates. Liaise with managers regarding service shutdowns or interruptions to allow safe completion of maintenance work. Participate in the Estates on-call rota and provide cover for sickness when required. Be available for work outside normal hours when needed to support operational needs. Deliver a responsive, customer-focused approach to Estates services. Complete condition reports on plant and equipment, supporting management in forecasting backlog spend. Demonstrate understanding of key HTMs, including:HTM 01 – Decontamination HTM 02 – Medical Gases HTM 03 – Heating and Ventilation HTM 04 – Water Systems HTM 06 – Electrical Services Support the training and development of colleagues, including apprentices. Participate in the Trust’s appraisal system and uphold our core values. Work flexibly across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust sites as part of a mobile Estates service. Act as an Authorised Person where required. Take a lead role in maintaining the Trend BMS system. Carry out other reasonable duties to support the Estates department in maintaining safe and reliable services.
