Role: Estimator (Masonry Restoration, Concrete Restoration, & Waterproofing)Priority Location: Global (Open to candidates from South Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe)Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 40hrs/week, US Eastern TimeSalary Range: $1,500-$3,000/month (The final offer is at the client’s discretion and will depend on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)Type of job: RemoteAbout the Role: The Masonry Restoration Estimator will support our U.S.-based estimating team by preparing accurate quantities, takeoffs, and cost breakdowns for restoration and repair masonry scopes. You’ll analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and photos to build clear and reliable estimates. This position is ideal for someone curious, precise, and eager to learn complex technical work in construction estimating for landmark and historic buildings.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review cost estimates for masonry restoration projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget requirements.Analyze and interpret detailed architectural and structural drawings, identifying all relevant materials, labor, and technical requirements.Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to gather specifications, verify quantities, and clarify project scope.Support bid preparation and proposal development, providing detailed pricing breakdowns and documentation to strengthen competitiveness.Develop and maintain cost databases and estimating records, ensuring consistent and reliable reference data for future projects.Evaluate project risks, contingencies, and alternatives, ensuring all cost considerations are well-documented and justified.Required Qualifications & Experience At least 2 years of experience as an Estimator with a focus on masonry restoration. Your experience must be in restoration (fixing existing buildings), not new construction. Experienced Engineers with historic preservation experience who are trainable and demonstrate strong analytical and technical aptitude are also encouraged to apply.Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings and specifications.Proficiency in any estimating tools or related software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel-based estimation systems, etc.).Strong understanding of masonry materials, restoration techniques, and industry standards.Background in structural engineering or related technical discipline is a must.Soft Skills & AttributesHigh intelligence and critical thinking ability - able to assess complex technical data with accuracy.Detail-oriented and precise, maintaining consistency and thoroughness in all deliverables.Adaptable and eager to learn, especially within specialized restoration methodologies.Dependable and self-motivated, demonstrating accountability and initiative in all aspects of work.Strong communication and collaboration skills, fostering effective coordination with project stakeholders.
