About ETTGThe European Think Tanks Group (ETTG) brings together leading European research institutes working on EU international cooperation and sustainable development:German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS)Overseas Development Institute (ODI)Elcano Royal InstituteIstituto Affari Internazionali (IAI)European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM)Institut du Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales (IDDRI)ETTG connects expertise from across Europe to promote joint research, organise high-level policy dialogues, and foster evidence-based debate on the EU’s role in global sustainable development and external action.Key ResponsibilitiesInformation Management:Track ETTG outputs, events, and activities.Aggregate and categorise network contacts for improved accessibility and coordination.Communications Support:Updating web content.Support the ETTG newsletter by coordinating inputs and conducting content research.Liaise with design or technical providers when needed.Assist with creation of visuals or infographics promoting ETTG events and outputs.Web & Digital Coordination:Contribute to developing and maintaining ETTG’s web pages and digital archives.Support digital engagement by monitoring analytics and performance metrics.Coordination & Administrative Tasks:Assist with scheduling and preparing meetings (drafting agendas, taking minutes, following up).Support event logistics (on-site and online).Help ensure efficient day-to-day functioning of the SecretariatThis position is based in Brussels and operates under a hybrid attendance settingWhat We OfferPossibility to extend the vacancy for another 3-4 months under a paid Belgium student contractA dynamic, international environment at the heart of EU policymaking.Exposure to leading European think tanks and experts across multiple capitals.Hands-on experience in communications, coordination, and digital outreach.Mentorship and learning opportunities in a small, collaborative Brussels-based team.The opportunity to contribute to key debates on EU development cooperation, climate policy, and global partnerships.QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a relevant university programme, bachelors or masters (curricular internship requirement) - mandatoryPermission to work in the EU - mandatoryAvailability to start in late January / early FebruaryBackground in European Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Communications, or a related field.Excellent organisational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.Proficiency in English (French is an asset).Interest in EU external action, international development, and the work of think tanks.Familiarity with Google Workspace and social media analytics tools is a plus.Demonstrated interest in international development, EU external action, and the role of think tanks.Familiarity with google workspaceThis position is designed as a two-phase engagement, beginning with a 3-month curricular internship. A subsequent extension of 3-4 months under a Belgian student contract is possible, contingent upon positive performance during the initial period. Furthermore, to be eligible for this extension, candidates must maintain student status and be enrolled at a Belgian higher education institution for the specific duration of the student contract phase to comply with local regulations.Please note that only applications that fully meet the stated mandatory requirements will be considered.
