Job OverviewAn opportunity has arisen for a housekeeper role to work in our hospitals.We are interested in hearing from individuals who are willing to work hard within a strong, friendly team. They will be required to provide a KEY service within the hospital for both staff and patients. The post holders will be responsible for ensuring that the environment is of a high standard and meets the needs of patients and visitors.The main focus of the post holder is to facilitate the maintenance of a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients. They will work with the ward-based team to ensure patient safety privacy and dignity and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.This is a challenging but rewarding job and would be ideally suited to motivated team players. Housekeeping experience within healthcare and Knowledge of COSHH, BICs, Colour coding and infection control is desirable though this is not essential, as full training will be given.Main duties of the jobThe housekeeping team at Heatherwood hospital are part of the the hotel services department and the Estates and Facilities directorate . The team is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all the hospital areas. Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and buffing floors using appropriate machinery. Dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, skirting boards, window ledges and equipment. Collecting and disposing of rubbish, clinical waste and recycling in accordance with Trust policy. Replenishing consumables such as soap, hand towels and toilet tissue. Ensuring cleaning equipment is kept in a clean and safe condition, and reporting any faults promptly. Assisting with curtain changes and deep cleans as required. Supporting catering duties where needed, including preparing and serving patient breakfasts and drinks, and assisting with meal orders when required. Maintaining confidentiality and showing respect and compassion to patients at all times.
