Venues Otautahi is thrilled to commence recruiting for a number of key roles across the business who will play a critical part in ensuring the successful launch and long-term success of the stadium, and ultimately bring the stadium to life!Venues Ōtautahi own the Christchurch Town Hall and Wolfbrook Arena and manage Apollo Projects Stadium, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, and One New Zealand Stadium. Venues Ōtautahi venues attract and host a wide range of over 500 events in Christchurch and manage a diverse and iconic portfolio of community venues.Venues Ōtautahi's purpose is to strategically manage and leverage the venues to deliver positive social, cultural, environmental and economic impact to the region. These iconic city venues play a valued role to the Christchurch way of life and the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region.About The RoleThe Event Manager, Business Events oversees and coordinates all aspects of delivering business events across Venues Ōtautahi venues, from concept to completion, ensuring an excellent experience for clients, guests, and all key delivery stakeholders.This role requires a high degree of ownership, motivation, creativity and initiative to accept significant responsibility and accountability. This position is based on a seven-day operation and will require shift work and weekend work as required.About YouIt's an exciting time to join Venues Ōtautahi and you'll have the opportunity to help shape our future as part of our passionate and hard-working team.The Successful Candidate Will HaveOver 3 years' experience inmeetings, conferences, events or similar operational environmentsProven experience with event management softwareExcellent communication skillsAbility to plan, coordinate, and deliver event operations.Knowledge of food and beverage service and audio-visual equipmentDemonstrated ability to successfully develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Knowledge of health, safety and legal requirements.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate problems.Great attention to detail, ensuring nothing is overlooked in safety, setup, or service delivery.High level of computer literacy in all Microsoft productsAbility to work collaborative and foster an engaged team environment.Flexibility as this role is based on a seven-day operation and will require shift work and weekend work as required.We act with aspiration, agility, kindness and are driven to take care of the venues to make them places of pride and delight for everyone.
