Job DescriptionLocation: Muckross RoadKillarney Conference and Events, part of Gleneagle, has an exciting vacancy for an Events Manager. Reporting to the Director of Business Tourism and working closely with the hotel senior management team. This exciting opportunity involves delivering a diverse programme of meetings, conferences, corporate and incentive events for both Irish and international clients.About The RoleAbout the roleAs Events Manager, you will be part of a small, specialist team within Gleneagle, responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of meetings, conferences, corporate, and incentive events. You’ll work closely with the Gleneagle management teams to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.This role encompasses all aspects of event organisation, management, and delivery—from client engagement and key account management to new client onboarding, venue scheduling, event schedule development, and providing accurate handovers to the hotel operations team. You’ll also collaborate with hotel management throughout the event lifecycle to ensure flawless delivery. Main duties of the roleKey Account and Relationship Management – contact person for clients, managing and hosting site visits, proactively maintain contact with Clients, client onboarding.Sales support - operational/technical sales support, anticipate event and client needs, assist and advise Clients and Sales Teams in selecting the facilities and services they needCommunication, planning and organising - Gather and interpret information for detailed and concise event schedules, manage the space and scheduling of events on venue management software, attends / leads event planning meetings, provide accurate and complete handover to the hotel operational team, work with Production Manager on technical and audio/visual specsCompliance - Keep track of event finances including but not limited to costs, revenues, invoicing. Manage event contracts including the timely issuance of contracts, estimates, event summaries, post events summaries and customer surveys. Maintain and protect the business tourism brand, image and reputationExperience, skills and personal attributes in addition to those aboveWhat you do need is to be a highly organised professional with proven ability to build and maintain relationships, with laser like focus on attention to detail, who is equally comfortable dealing with both existing clients and new clients in face-to-face communication, telephone, and email as they plan their event with us.You need to be confident, assertive, and persuasive in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders and comfortable working in an environment that can be fast paced at times.You will have worked in event organisation or delivery on a smaller scale and are looking to gain experience in Irelands premier event centre.
