We play to the highest level of professional cricket with a history stretching back over 155 years.Our vision is to become Worcestershire's premier destination for live sports, entertainment & hospitality, whilst providing great experiences for everyone who comes to New Road.We're passionate about our people and strive to make our working environment a welcoming and inclusive one, fuelling ambition with opportunities and support to help our people achieve their personal and professional goals.Our values of Trust, Inclusiveness, Kindness, Resilience and Togetherness, resonate across everything we do at the Club and define our culture and behaviours.Purpose of the Role:Alongside our busy Cricket schedule, we have a thriving functions and hospitality offering, with a broad range of rooms and facilities available to cater for any function for up to 250 guests.We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Events Manager to lead our hospitality venue's front-of-house operations.The Event Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across all club events and matchday operations. This position focuses primarily on front of house excellence, to ensure that all members, guests, and visitors receive a warm welcome, outstanding service, and a consistent high standard of hospitality.The role requires a proactive and hands on individual who can lead from the front, maintain operational standards, and uphold the club's reputation for professionalism and attention to detail.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Front of House & Customer Experience: Oversee all front of house operations during events, match days, and functions Ensure a welcoming, professional, and customer focused atmosphere across all hospitality areas Anticipate guest needs and take swift action to address issues or requests Lead by example in delivering first class customer service and maintaining club standards Regularly monitor the presentation of public and hospitality spaces, ensuring cleanliness and readiness at all timesEvent Coordination & Delivery: Plan and execute events, including match days, private functions, corporate events, and community activities Liaise with internal teams (catering, operations, grounds, marketing) to ensure seamless delivery of all events Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event reviews to ensure continuous improvement Manage event schedules, staffing, and front of house logistics to maintain smooth operationsStaff Leadership & Standards: Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house and event staff to uphold high standards of presentation and service Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and accountability Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback to ensure staff performance meets club expectationsCustomer Relations & Feedback: Act as the main point of contact for guests during events, ensuring concerns are handled promptly and effectively Build strong relationships with members, sponsors, and regular clients to encourage repeat business Gather and analyse customer feedback to identify opportunities for service enhancementHealth, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all front-of-house operations comply with health and safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations Maintain accurate records and risk assessments for all event activities Support a safe and inclusive environment for staff, members, and visitorsOther Responsibilities: Support the Events Sales Manager with planning confirmed and potential bookings You will be a key holder and will have shared responsibility for opening/closing the premises on a rota basis Assist with the control, receipt and issue of stock and equipment, always ensuring clear stock control and making sure the correct equipment is available for all bookings and is in good working order Encourage upselling and promote current offerings and promotions to increase sales and guest satisfaction Perform other such duties as may be reasonably requested by the Head of HospitalityOther responsibilities:We expect our people to demonstrate and promote our values at all times to ensure Worcestershire County Cricket Club's brand is always held in the highest regard both internally and in public.
